Mapleton’s Organic is certified by OCIA (Ontario Crop Improvement Association), a nonprofit, member-owned, agricultural organization dedicated to providing the highest quality organic certification services.
Organic Seal, which means that every certifying
organic agency will be accredited by the Canadian
Food Inspection Agency.
Thus, the standards will be the same across
the board. Mapleton’s is also certified by L.F.P
(Local Food Plus) an organization that supports and encourages local food systems.
At Mapleton’s we endeavour to use as many Fair Trade products as
we possibly can. Our Fair Trade Supplier is La Siembre Co-operative.
They offer high-quality, Fair Trade Certified organic chocolate,
sugar, and cocoa products that improve the lives of family farmers
and the well-being of communities at home and abroad.
Our dairy plant is inspected and certified by the Canadian Food
Inspection agency while the Local Health Unit inspects the kitchen
in our on-farm store.
