Farm Help Wanted

Farm Worker Wanted!  (updated description as of Nov 29, 2021)

We are looking for someone to help out in our organic dairy farm.

Duties include:

• bedding and feeding cows and heifers
• feeding calves and overseeing calf care
• maintenance of robot rooms
• care of demonstration barn animals (chickens, pigs, sheep etc)
• farm maintenance such as pressure washing, grass cutting, cleaning pens, etc.
• fencing, pasturing and field work
• maintaining equipment
• maintaining animal and feeding records

Education Requirements:

No specific requirements.  Degree, certificate or diploma in an agricultural field or a recognized trade would be beneficial.

Work Experience Requirements:

Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months experience working in an agricultural farm / business, ideally with livestock.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge or interest in sustainable farming, and has a strong work ethic.

In addition to your agricultural experience please note experience you may have from other job(s), volunteer experience, sports or hobbies that demonstrate your ability to work in a physically demanding position, experience with tools etc.

A positive attitude and the ability to work independently is a must.

You must be prepared to work weekends and holidays.  The typical schedule is 10 days on, 4 days off on 8 hour shifts.  (Every other weekend off.)

We are looking for a full-time candidate, but will also consider applications for part-time assistance.

Job Title:  Farm Worker

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent preferred 

Salary: $15.00-$18.00 per hour dependent on experience. (no benefits)

If you are an experienced farm worker salary negotiation will be considered.
