Arwa speaks about GMO Alfalfa

Organic farmers are not allowed to plant any GMO crops.

GMO (Genetically Moditifed Organism) is a term given to plants or animals that have been created by merging DNA from specific species.

It is common for conventional farmers to plant GMO crops in North America.

Crops like GMO soybeans, canola, corn and sugar beets are all approved to be  planted and sold in Canada.

Alfalfa is the next crop on the list.

However, many farmers want this STOPPED!

Watch the video above for more information from Mapleton's Organic' herd manager, Arwa DeGroot talking about GMO alfalfa.
